Holy Mass
Increase active membership & participation.
Our Parish vision is a future full of hope as we create a intergenerational community of children, teen, young adults, middle-age and seniors, with a full church for Sunday Mass.
Several factors necessitate the need for this goal. First, Sacred Heart used to be a part of a cluster that was in the Diocese of Davenport. Following the split, it has become necessary to identify those who maintain an affiliation as a part of the parish. Second, there is the Covid-19 factor. Therefore the goal is to redefine the membership and create active participation at Mass and in ministries.
Building on past and current efforts.
1. Registration of parish families. To do this we will continue with the registration of parishioners to identify who are in our parish after the split from the Diocese of Davenport.
-October 2022-June 2023. Mailed registration forms to all parishioners
-Parish Secretary
2. Send letters to inactive members to explain to them that the parish is now independent of the previous cluster. But now linked with St. Isidore in Springville and St. John's in Mt. Vernon.
-September 2023
-Priest and Parish Council Members
3. Make phone calls and home visits to those who have not responded to the registration form.
-October-November 2023
-Parish Council Members
4. Invite more children of the parish to be involved in the children's Mass to increase Mass attendance.
-Children's Mass once per month on the first Sunday of the month
-Director of Religious Education
5. Liturgical Ministry sign-up
-October 2023 & March 2024
-Liturgy Committee
6. Encourage parishioners to pray and discuss materials and activities with friends.
-All Year

7. Encourage parishioners to continue to bring love and mercy of Jesus to others in the community.

First, communication will be through the website and the social media platforms. Also, announcements at Mass and in the weekly bulletin. Second, parishioners will be personally encouraged to be part of the process. For each event and timelines, parishioners will be informed on the previous stated platforms and encouraged to fully embrace and participate in the process.
